CHANNEL BRANDING

THE CHALLENGE

BRANDING THE FIRST
PAN-AFRICAN NEWS CHANNEL

We worked with Continental Broadcasting Service Nigeria to create the branding for their new exciting broadcast venture, TVC News.

TVC News had ambitious plans to be the first truly pan-African news channel, with a confident, bold approach to broadcasting and a fearless nature to its reporting.

This project was designed and produced whilst working at TILT Design.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE

So often Africa is presented using cliches, misconceptions and more often than not from the perspective of outsiders looking in.

There was a desire from the start to avoid this and for it to be a truly African channel that was both representative of the continent and viewed from their own perspective.

We wanted to capture this sentiment through a powerful, striking package that showed a positive, more progressive identity, which reflected how Africa sees itself.

THROUGH AFRICAN EYES

DISTILLATION AND REFLECTION

We developed a unique package made up of crystal prisms and light rays created to capture the brand positioning developed alongside TVC.

TVC News acts as a multifaceted mirror reflecting the current events affecting the people of Africa. Like a prism, TVC absorbs a huge amount of news from across the continent. This information is deconstructed, revealing new viewpoints and offering greater understanding. At the same time distilling and simplifying, making sense of the ever changing and complex world we live in.

CREATED TO OPEN THE VIEWERS MINDS TO THE POSSIBILITIES OF KNOWLEDGE AND QUESTION HOW WE PERCEIVE IT.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

The striking use of the crystal prisms combined with the light rays created a powerful, striking and modern statement, with endless opportunity to extend the brand across the diversity of programming and offering huge scope for future brand development.
